What you will study First year A typical first year may include: core topics in evolution of biological diversity, the molecular basis of life, legal and ethical aspects of health care, communication and interprofessional practice, and health practitioner practice topic in chemical structure and bonding or general chemistry study of chemistry for the life sciences Second year A typical second year may include: core topics in critical social analysis of health, a psychological perspective of health, environmental change and human health, geographical information systems, and health promotion for health professionals an introduction to public health and food democracy study of Indigenous health for health professionals, Indigenous engagement: land and water, or Indigenous cultures and the environment Third year A typical third year may include: core topics in qualitative and quantitative methods for social health research a health work internship a choice of topics in areas such as epidemiology for practice; leadership in public health; evaluation in primary health care; public health and environmental toxicology; food, frontiers and international relations; and environmental philosophy Fourth and fifth years A typical fourth and fifth year may include: topics in environmental health concepts; environmental health policy, management and administration; human systems in environmental health; food safety; sustainable development health issues; legislation relevant to environmental health; and microbiology and communicable diseases study of health sciences research methods, health promotion in public health, or context of remote and Indigenous health practice.
