Designed for progressive, hardworking, business-minded graduates and for those wanting to excel in the professional accounting field, the MPPA offers a plethora of employment opportunities, in any corner of the globe! The MPPA is ideal for those from a non-academic background who require a pathway into the professional bodies, CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). It also provides higher level studies for those with an accounting degree.
Melbourne Polytechnic’s MPPA is accredited by CPA Australia and by CAANZ.
Exit Points
You’re able to exit the course after one year with a Graduate Diploma of Professional and Practicing Accounting, and then choose to complete the Master later.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
You can seek RPL where your work or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. Academic Credit is granted on a case-by-case basis, according to our Academic Credit policy and associated procedures. Applications for Academic Credit will be assessed by relevant Melbourne Polytechnic academics and where appropriate, industry experts.
Assessment Methods
Assessment consists of a mixture of case study reports, research reports, presentations, tests and examinations. The assessment recognizes the advanced level of the studies in this course.

Applicants must have successful completion of an undergraduate degree in a Creative Arts discipline or other appropriate area such as Arts Management, Arts Education, with a credit average awarded by a recognised university or TAFE. English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall no individual band less than 6.0; TOEFL iBT: 79 overall, Writing: 24, Speaking: 20, Reading: 19, Listening: 20. Pearson Global Scale of English PTE Academic: 58 overall communicative skills: 50; Cambridge English Scale: Cambridge: First (FCE), Cambridge: Advanced (CAE), Cambridge: Proficiency (CPE): 176 overall individual bands: 169.

Academic: AQF (Australian) Bachelor degree or overseas equivalent. Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in any field. Those with an undergraduate degree in accounting will be eligible to apply for some credit transfer.
English: Academic IELTS 6.5 with no individual band below 6.0, Pearson PTE Academic 58 overall with no individual communicative skill below 50, or Melbourne Polytechnic recognized equivalency. TOEFL iBT: 83 overall (Writing: 24, Speaking: 20, Reading: 19, Listening: 20); Cambridge English Scale (Cambridge: First (FCE), Cambridge: Advanced (CAE), Cambridge: Proficiency (CPE)): 176 overall (individual bands: 169); Melbourne Polytechnic: ELICOS - 3+ ISLPR overall individual bands: min ISLPR 3.
