We are pleased to introduce our latest post-graduate course - the Graduate Diploma of Creative Industries (GDCI). The GDCI aims to strengthen your knowledge of applied creative research, critical thinking and to extend your practice. These skills are vital to succeed within the competitive creative industries - enrol with us to get ahead, and stay ahead.
Graduate Diploma of Creative Industries (GDCI) – Objectives
You will present a minor project reflective of topical themes and issues and that has developed your professional practice either as an artist, designer, writer, musician or other arts professional (at the end of this degree). This project is supported by work in a studio and with a focus on initiating and exploring innovative projects with industry.
The learning goals and objectives for the GDCI are based around developing the relevant knowledge and analytical, critical and study skills necessary to building ventures in the creative industries. You should be able to find employment through creative enterprise, as an arts professional, practicing artist, self-employed arts entrepreneur or within the public service sector and/or academic creative arts related fields.
Course Structure
The Graduate Diploma of Creative Industries curriculum model is based upon two thematic streams. These are (1) Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation and (2) Applied Creative Research.

Applicants must have successful completion of an undergraduate degree in a Creative Arts discipline or other appropriate area such as Arts Management, Arts Education, with a credit average awarded by a recognised university or TAFE. English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall no individual band less than 6.0; TOEFL iBT: 79 overall, Writing: 24, Speaking: 20, Reading: 19, Listening: 20. Pearson Global Scale of English PTE Academic: 58 overall communicative skills: 50; Cambridge English Scale: Cambridge: First (FCE), Cambridge: Advanced (CAE), Cambridge: Proficiency (CPE): 176 overall individual bands: 169.

Alternatively (for prospective applicants without a completed undergraduate degree) - candidates may enter the Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate by demonstrating a minimum of five years full-time equivalent work or creative practice experience in creative and performing arts or in an industry position related to creative and performing arts.
English: Academic IELTS 6.5 with no individual band below 6.0, Pearson PTE Academic 58 overall with no individual communicative skill below 50, or Melbourne Polytechnic recognized equivalency. TOEFL iBT: 83 overall (Writing: 24, Speaking: 20, Reading: 19, Listening: 20); Cambridge English Scale (Cambridge: First (FCE), Cambridge: Advanced (CAE), Cambridge: Proficiency (CPE)): 176 overall (individual bands: 169); Melbourne Polytechnic: ELICOS - 3+ ISLPR overall individual bands: min ISLPR 3.
