We have designed this course to provide theoretical knowledge and high-level vocational skills in information technology with a business focus, meeting the needs of local and multinational organizations, as well as the broader business community.

Network Security
Software Development
Business Information Systems
Analyze, design, implement and manage complex information systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Business Intelligence and Software Development. You’ll also create software for a wide range of applications.
Students completing this program will gain a Bachelor of Information Technology qualification from Melbourne Polytechnic. In addition, Melbourne Polytechnic has partnered with SAS Institute Inc. to provide a joint certificate titled “Information Technology Analytics”, a Globally Recognized Professional Industry Certification for eligible students on successful completion of specific units covering SAS.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
You can seek RPL where your work or qualifications of an advanced and related nature have been undertaken. Academic Credit is granted on a case-by-case basis, according to our Academic Credit policy and associated procedures. Applications for Academic Credit will be assessed by our academics and where appropriate, industry experts.

Units of Study
Credit points are a basic measure of student workload. All subjects are given a credit point value. Most subjects at Melbourne Polytechnic are 12 credit points. A normal full-time annual workload is 96 credit points. The academic year is divided into two main semesters; full-time students usually enrol in 48 credit points each semester, part time students usually enrol in 24 credit points each semester or less.
