Become a registered Psychologist
Take the next step to become a registered psychologist with USQ’s Master of Professional Psychology. Have you have already completed a four-year Psychology degree and want to achieve general registration? Our Master of Professional Psychology, plus one year of full-time supervised (independent) practice, will qualify you for a career as a Psychologist.

Do you have a busy schedule? No problem. Our Psychology training workshops are held on Saturdays during the semester, allowing you to integrate your studies with a work-life balance.
Your studies and experience will prepare you to provide psychological assessment, intervention strategies, relapse prevention and a wide range of psychology services.
Career outcomes
As a graduate, you will be able to find employment as a psychologist in a variety of within public health and community services, as well as private practice.
Professional accreditation
Upon completion of your Master of Professional Psychology degree, you will be able to apply for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia after a further one year of full-time supervised practice. Graduates will also be able to apply for full membership with the Australian Psychological Society after a period of supervised practice.

Students must have Bachelor degree with 1st class/2nd class (2A) honours or a master’s degree with a significant research component or other postgraduate qualifications. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.5 (or better)(no component lower than 6.0); TOEFL (paper based) - 570 (with a minimum Test of Written English score TWE 5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 230 (with an essay rating of at least 5); TOEFL (internet based) - 90 (or better) (with 20 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 58 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 58); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Proficiency (CPE) with a score of 176 or above. No less than 169 in each skill.

Applicants must have completed an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)-accredited 4-year sequence in psychology within the last 10 years (Honors AQF Level 8); Be eligible for provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
