With current course content, you will be prepared to take on the challenges of modern power engineering. Your study program allows you to work in power plants and analyze the use of expert equipment to apply your practical knowledge in the industry.
After you graduate with your Bachelor of Engineering Science, you’ll be open to a vast range of careers as a Power Engineering Technologist or Electrical Power Technologist to work in various fields including mining and transportation as well as solar and renewable industries.
Professional accreditation
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering Science, you will be eligible to apply for membership with Engineers Australia as an Engineering Technologist. After gaining some experience from working in the field, you can apply for chartered status as an Engineering Technologist.

Students must have a recognized previous academic qualification. These qualifications are for standard entry and are based on comparisons with Australian year 12 level examinations. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) - 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) - 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: First (FCE) with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.

GCE A Levels - minimum grade of D or better in GCE A-level English; GCE O Levels - minimum grade of C or better in GCE O-level English; International Baccalaureate (IB) - English B Standard Level grade 5, higher level (A1 or A2) grade 4.
