Why Electrical?
USQ’s Electrical Engineering program gives you the opportunity to get hands-on with modern electronic technology. With practical studies you will work with transmitters, microprocessors, power electronic converters, robotics, fiber optics and motors to prepare you for work out in the field. Electrical engineers design, build and operate electrical devices and systems from small scale transmitters to major projects in the fields of medicine, power and technology.
Professional accreditation
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Engineering Science, you will be eligible to apply for membership with Engineers Australia as an Engineering Technologist. After gaining some experience from working in the field, you can apply for chartered status as an Engineering Technologist.
Career outcomes
With your graduate expertise, you’ll be able to secure a career as an Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technologist with major power companies including Ergon Energy, Origin and Energex.

Students must have a recognized previous academic qualification. These qualifications are for standard entry and are based on comparisons with Australian year 12 level examinations. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic only) - 6.0 (or better) (no component lower than 5.5); TOEFL (paper based) - 550 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 4.5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) - 213 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 4.5); TOEFL (internet based) - 80 (or better) (with 19 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) - 50 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 50); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE3 - Cambridge English: First (FCE) with a score of 169 or above. No less than 162 in each skill.

GCE A Levels - minimum grade of D or better in GCE A-level English; GCE O Levels - minimum grade of C or better in GCE O-level English; International Baccalaureate (IB) - English B Standard Level grade 5, higher level (A1 or A2) grade 4.
