Turn your passion for sport into a career with the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science.
Develop the skills that will enable you to improve the health, fitness and performance of individuals and teams through training, coaching and advice.
You’ll learn how to navigate the increasingly digitised exercise and sport industry through access to cutting-edge laboratories and technology, including wearable sensors, virtual reality and 3D analysis equipment. You’ll also gain real-world experience through industry-based entrepreneurial and research projects.
Graduate ready to apply for roles such as a sport or exercise scientist, coach, or strength and conditioning specialist in elite or community sport, government agencies, clinical settings or corporate wellbeing. This course is a pathway into postgraduate studies in clinical exercise physiology, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, and various research degrees.
Course structure
Successful completion of the Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science requires students to complete units of study to the value of 300 credit points. All units of study are valued at 12.5 credit points unless otherwise stated.
Course learning outcomes
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
retrieve, critically evaluate and communicate information about local and global health, exercise and sport science from a variety of sources using a range of technologies
promote and optimise the health, fitness and sporting performance of individuals and/or populations
demonstrate professional and ethical behaviours
reflect on current skills, knowledge and attitudes, and plan ongoing personal and professional development
apply content knowledge, concepts, practices, theories, evidence and skills associated with the sub disciplines of exercise and sport science to a range of exercise, sport and health-related activities and settings, working independently and in teams
apply innovation and technology to extend the boundaries of knowledge and research in Exercise and Sport Science.

In an industry that is continually expanding, Sport and Exercise Science graduates have a wide range of career opportunities to choose from.
Graduates can pursue roles in areas such as corporate wellness, public health, diagnostic investigation, government, private practice, gyms or high-performance sport teams. Roles may include sports scientist, performance analyst, coaching/development officer, strength and conditioning specialist, cardiac technician, occupational health and safety officer, or fitness and wellness coordinator.
