专业简介
The Bachelor of Education provides the opportunity to gain an understanding of teaching and learning in an Australian context. This degree does not qualify students to become a teacher. Students will gain broad knowledge of primary school and early childhood areas and the capacity to critically review theory and practice.
Course structure
Successful completion of the Bachelor of Education requires students to complete units of study to the value of 300 credit points. All units of study are valued at 12.5 credit points unless otherwise stated.
Course learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Bachelor of Education, graduates will be able to:
show broad and coherent knowledge of students aged 0-12 years and how they learn with capacity to show initiative and judgement when making decisions or solving problems
show broad and coherent knowledge of Primary School and Early Childhood content areas within the Australian context, and capacity to critically review theory and practice
demonstrate the capacity to show initiative and judgment to plan for, and implement, effective teaching and learning in diverse contexts with the capacity to solve problems with intellectual independence
demonstrate the capacity to adapt knowledge and skills to create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments, and the ability to critically analyse information in diverse contexts
show responsibility and accountability for own learning to identify, engage in and apply professional learning, individually and in collaboration with others
demonstrate conceptual knowledge of the principles of diversity and difference and the implications to children’s rights and inclusive practice, with the ability to adapt such knowledge in diverse contexts.
Career opportunities
The Bachelor of Education offers students the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of education as an academic discipline. This course enables graduates to work within the field of education at a policy or governmental level but without the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) accredited teaching award. The flexibility of this degree allows students the opportunity to choose electives which match the broad variety of education environments and develop skills for the future education workforce.

Other English Language Requirements accepted: Cambridge English: Advanced Scores: 58 with no less than Borderline in each skill; TOEFL Paper Based: 550 (minimum TWE 5.0); PTE Academic: 58 with no communicative skill score less than 50; CEF (Common European Framework): B2; English for Academic Purposes (Level 5): Overall 70% (all skills 65% or above).

Satisfactory completion of one of the following:
Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65%
minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with a reading band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20
Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)
any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
