Course highlights
The Bachelor of Social Work is offered on campus at Wagga Wagga, Dubbo and Port Macquarie, or you can take up online study to complement your work and lifestyle commitments. A flexible combination of both modes is also available.
Entry and credit pathways
Students who have completed relevant Diploma studies may earn credit into our online and on-campus programs. The Bachelor of Social Work can be completed on campus as part of an integrated program with TAFE NSW at Dubbo and Port Macquarie. There are also several postgraduate study options available.

Practical learning
Learn about people, communities, groups, social structures, how to think and communicate, and how to respond to need and opportunity. Develop strong practical skills and hands-on learning through 1000 hours of supported workplace learning, offering unique opportunities to observe, question and model social work behaviour.
This course includes areas such as child protection, cross-cultural and Indigenous studies, ethics, human rights, law, mental health, psychology, social policy, sociology and in-depth study of the methods and theories of social work.

Break down barriers, shape policy and conduct research
Improve the livelihoods of individuals and groups including children, older people, Indigenous people, migrants or refugees, or those affected by domestic violence, drug abuse or mental illness. You can do this through direct practice, policy formation, social action and program planning.
Make a difference in the public or private sector
Advocate for the community through legal aid programs, health and community services, housing and corrections, or provide individual and group counselling, case management and disability advocacy.
Establish your own practice
A growing number of social work graduates offer clinical services, education and consultation on a fee-for-service basis.

Applicants must have completion of the first year of a recognised university bachelor degree; Completion on the National College Entrance Examination Gaokao with a minimum score of 60% of the total maximum Gaokao score for the province; Completion of the China Senior High School Middle Year 3 Gaosan with an average of 80% across the top four academic subjects. English Language requirements: an Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall score of at least 6.0 with no score below 5.5; a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) internet based score of 80 and writing score of 25; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic score of 54 with a minimum of 46 in all communicative skills.
