Course highlights CSU's Bachelor of Education (K–12) prepares you to be a teacher in both primary and secondary schools who is effective and reflective in your practice, manages the changing nature of teaching in the community, and has well-developed interpersonal skills. Study areas to suit your passions Your studies will include professional experience subjects, studies in all Key Learning Areas for teaching kindergarten to Year 6, and studies for a major in a high school teaching area. You will choose a major high school teaching area from business studies, English, mathematics, modern history or science. Students at Port Macquarie are able to major in business studies, English, mathematics or modern history. From your third year, you can choose to study completely online or remain on campus. More hands-on experience You will spend 120 days in the classroom — more than students of other teacher education degrees — in a variety of rural, regional and/or metropolitan primary and secondary schools. You will also complete 35 hours in community educational settings. Following your second year of study, you may concurrently enrol in our Bachelor of Educational Studies, to add studies in a second high school teaching area.
