With its strong emphasis on practical classroom experience, our Master of Teaching (Secondary Education) is an excellent preparation for graduates who want to teach at secondary school level. Replacing the Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary), this contemporary Masters degree offers a more graduated approach to the in-school development of teaching competence and twice as much classroom experience.
If you have already completed a Bachelor’s degree in a suitable discipline, this Master of Teaching (Secondary Education) will enable you transition into a teaching career. Designed to be completed over two years of full-time study, this degree allows you to take an experienced approach to the in-school development of teaching competence.
Available as either a full-time or part-time program, our Master of Teaching (Secondary Education) consists of 13 specialist teaching courses, five theological courses and one justice studies courses, plus two teaching placements, totaling 20 weeks of classroom practice.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. English language requirement: IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall, with no writing score lower than 6.5 and no other individual band score lower than 6.0; CAE/CPE - 176 overall, with no score lower than 176 in writing and no other band score lower than 169; PTE Academic - 58 overall, with no score lower than 58 in writing and no other band score lower than 50; TOEFL (iBT) - 84 overall, with no score lower than 22 in writing and no other band score lower than 17.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a discipline relevant to the secondary school curriculum in Western Australia and provide sufficient depth for teaching a Major (up to Year 12) and a teaching specialisation (up to Year 10 level).
