Completed over three years, the Bachelor of Arts with a Second Major in Business Studies introduces the basic building blocks such as taxation, accounting for business, business law and employment relations. For a more in-depth background in commerce, students consider taking a double degree in Arts and Commerce instead. This Second Major, combined with your first Major from the traditional Arts disciplines, will equip you with the skills required to operate successfully within the business environment. The Major consists of three or four compulsory courses and four or five electives. Initially, you will receive a grounding in the basics of business by studying courses such as the Principles of Management and Accounting for Business. Following this, you will be able to customise and tailor your major to match your interests. Work Integrated Learning: When you study a Bachelor of Arts you will have the opportunity to complete an internship of approximately 90 hours in your first Major that will allow you to put the theory into practice in a workplace environment.
