This program will develop your epidemiological, bio statistical and methodological skills to an advanced level. It's designed for applicants with a background in epidemiology, quantitative research, or health. Complete one field of study: either Clinical Epidemiology, which applies the principles of epidemiology to clinical practice and patient care, or the 'Standard' field, which focuses on a range of different population groups.
Complete compulsory courses, which will build and extend your knowledge of epidemiology as a discipline and develop your methodological skills, along with elective courses, which cover research, public health, and more. Undertake a research project that addresses a specific topic or problem relevant to public or population health. You'll be involved in all aspects of research, from defining a topic and methodology to interpreting results and reporting on your findings.

The Master of Epidemiology is usually undertaken for professional development reasons – career progression, updating knowledge, or broadening areas of expertise
Graduates typically work across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, both in Australia and internationally. They may work in areas including education, medicine, health, public health, government, or clinical research.
Qualifications in epidemiology are also useful for roles in science communication and policy development in government or industry.
Other graduates use the Master of Epidemiology to further their research ambitions and proceed to enrol in a Master of Philosophy or PhD program, where they continue developing their research skills and make significant contributions to knowledge.

Applicants must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale and four years full-time work experience post-graduation including at least two of the four years full-time work experience gained while working in a dedicated supervisory/management role as approved by the Executive Dean; OR Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from UQ or equivalent with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale. International applicants must complete the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) with a minimum score of 550. English language requirements: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; or TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; or TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; or PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; or CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; or BEP: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills.

A degree in another discipline with a minimum GPA of 5 & have completed 12 months FT work in an approved healthcare setting; or
The GCEpi and/or GDipEpi from the University (or equivalent).

Demonstrate an active contribution to a research publication; or
Provide a referee/research mentor report confirming skills & experience with health-related quantitative research.
