This 18-month program is designed for applicants with a qualification in the same area, or a combination of a degree and professional experience. Tailor your studies by specialising in one of five fields of study: Behaviour Management, Curriculum, Guidance and Counselling, Leadership, or Supporting Diverse Learners. Study the latest developments, theories, policies and practices in education. You will strengthen your leadership expertise as you obtain the knowledge and skills required for work in your chosen area of specialisation. Put your knowledge into practice. Depending on your area of specialisation, you can choose to complete all aspects of a practicum that focuses on advanced research and teaching interests.
Behaviour Management
This field is designed to give teachers the knowledge and skills needed to identify, describe, and manage students' challenging behaviours in schools.
Curriculum
The Curriculum field of study offers students the opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment issues that is responsive to the introduction of the Australian Curriculum. It explores contemporary issues associated with curriculum in schooling and education. The field considers priority areas in the Australian curriculum and also offers students the opportunity to study in a core learning area.
Guidance, Counselling and Careers
This field provides the knowledge, understanding and skills that are essential for today's professional guidance counsellors and career development practitioners. This specially designed program of study allows students to develop competencies as professional guidance counsellors and/or career practitioners for employment in schools, TAFE colleges, agencies, or as private practitioners.
Leadership
In a 21st century knowledge society, leadership has emerged as a critical contributor to positive outcomes, overall success and sustainability to organisations and institutions in education and education-related fields. In such an increasingly complex and uncertain future, transformative leadership competencies encompassing distributive and collaborative domains have become essential.
Supporting Diverse Learners
The Supporting Diverse Learners field of study takes a developmental perspective situating young people with special needs and learning difficulties in context in order to better understand their learning and behaviour. It develops the skills, knowledge and values to teach students with a range of diverse abilities and needs, from students with developmental disabilities to those who may have difficulties in learning, as well as those at risk of school failure or disengagement.

Applicants must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale and four years full-time work experience post-graduation including at least two of the four years full-time work experience gained while working in a dedicated supervisory/management role as approved by the Executive Dean; OR Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from UQ or equivalent with a GPA of at least 4.50 on a 7 point scale. International applicants must complete the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) with a minimum score of 550. English language requirements: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; or TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; or TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; or PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; or CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; or BEP: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills.
