This 18-month program will help you develop an in-depth understanding of key pathologies, including metabolic, cardiovascular, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, and how they can be managed through exercise. Focus on exercise prescription, programming and research by completing intensive study and hands-on clinical training, and learn about working with people who are healthy or those who have disabilities or complex and chronic medical conditions. Study in state-of-the-art facilities including exercise science laboratories (including strength and conditioning labs, motor control labs, and exercise physiology labs), general teaching laboratories (including a biomechanics teaching lab), and more. Be confident and job-ready after spending 600 hours on supervised clinical placements within our five specialised on-campus clinics, as well as external industry placements in a range of healthcare organisations around Queensland. Career outcomes Graduates of the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology are eligible for accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) to practice as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP). AEPs are recognised allied health professionals who can provide exercise science services covered by Medicare, Work Cover and Department of Veterans' Affairs. Opportunities exist in a range of clinical areas including: Cardiac rehabilitation Musculoskeletal rehabilitation Diabetes management Chronic and complex disease management Return-to-work programs Health promotion and disease prevention. Graduates typically work in private or multidisciplinary clinics, hospitals or clinical services, home health services, rehabilitation clinics, health and fitness centres, or research centres. Other graduates use the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology to further their research ambitions and proceed to enrol in a Master of Philosophy or PhD program, where they continue developing their research skills and make significant contributions to knowledge.
