The Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management is a three-year program that will prepare you for a successful professional or managerial career across the tourism, hospitality or events industries. Develop your core business knowledge through a range of compulsory courses. Compulsory courses cover relevant aspects of accounting, law, management, marketing, organisational behaviour, tourism, and more. Choose one or two majors from the following options: Event Management, Hospitality Management, or Tourism Management. If you decide to only study one major, you'll also need to complete a range of elective courses. Get industry experience through initiatives including the Executive Shadowing Program and Individual Placements. You can also go on wine-making trips, or make the most of opportunities like the Disney International Program. Event Management Event Management is an exciting and satisfying field. As a student in the Event Management major, you'll learn about the nature and role of events in society, and develop skills in all aspects of event management. Importantly, you'll also learn about the long history and significance of festivals, so you can better understand how events have evolved and why they matter. Hospitality Management The Hospitality Management major focuses on the big and broad hospitality industry, where no two days are the same. The Hospitality Management major examines international hotel operations management, the role of technology in hospitality management, and large-scale services management – as well as small business operations. Tourism Management The Tourism Management major examines tourism operations, destination marketing, and policy-related issues. As a student in this major, you'll learn about sustainability, ecotourism, visitor behaviour, and the physical, social and economic effects of tourism.
