The Master of Property is a professional program for graduates wanting to gain employment in the property industry. The Master of Property focuses on real-world projects which range across the full property and development cycle, preparing students for the realities of professional life. It allows students to develop and build on expertise in valuation, property development and property management. You will complete a range of core courses covering all the property fundamentals including: Property development Property law Facility management Advanced property analysis Statutory valuation Property agency and marketing The economies of cities and regions You can then enhance this fundamental knowledge with six property electives and two cross-disciplinary courses from the relevant fields of urban design, urban planning, architecture and landscape architecture. This means you enter the workforce with a well-rounded knowledge base and the skills to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams. If you are taking the three-year program, you will take five property subjects and three economics and commerce subjects before moving on to the final two years. Professional experience may contribute to professional accreditation requirements. There is also the opportunity to take research subjects which can lead to further studies as a PhD candidate. Flexible study The degree offers you flexibility. If you already have a three-year undergraduate degree in property, you can take a two-year program. If your first degree is not in property and you are making a career change, take the three-year program. Note that part-time study is only available to domestic students. You will gain advanced knowledge in: Property valuation and analysis Development and management of property Professional practice in a property context Majors, Minors & Specialisations Students entering the Master of Property from a cognate discipline with 100 points of advanced standing will undertake the 200-point program Semester 2 (mid-year) entry may be available to students with an undergraduate degree in Master of Property, or with a cognate degree. Entry with advanced standing will be offered on a case by case basis. Students in this program may be eligible to undertake final subject assessment if they: are in the final semester of their enrolment (not the last 50 points of the course); and fail a single subject worth up to 12.5 points with a final result of 40 - 49%.
