Melbourne Business School's Master of Finance offers comprehensive preparation for a career in the finance industry for those who have a background in the discipline.
The program provides an understanding of:
Financial management principles and their application to corporate financial policy
Australian and international financial markets
Derivative assets and the operation of the markets in these assets
Appropriate skills for analysing and interpreting developments in financial practice

If you want to work in the finance industry
Have completed an undergraduate major in finance or some finance study at the undergraduate level in the areas of: capital budgeting, dividend policy, corporate risk management, pricing of risk assets and the Capital Asset Pricing Model
The degree is designed to be completed in two years of full-time study and requires completion of 200 points.

The first year of the program comprises:
6 discipline core subjects
2 elective subjects
Year 2
The second year of the program comprises:
4 discipline core subjects
elective subjects (worth 50 points)

Graduate coursework programs normally require the satisfactory completion of an undergraduate degree either from the University of Melbourne, another Australian institution, or a university in another country. English language requirements: IELTS (academic English Only) - 7.0 overall, with written 7 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 600 + TWE 5.0; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 94 + (Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill.

In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:
an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent, with studies in Business Finance, Investments and Corporate Finance (37.5 points), or their equivalents;
a personal statement outlining why they wish to be considered for the course; and
the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) unless the applicant has completed an undergraduate degree in Australia or New Zealand or met one of the approved conditions for GMAT or GRE exemption.

TOEFL (paper test): 577 with TWE 4.5
TOEFL (internet): 79 with Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13
Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58-64 inclusive and no communicative skill below 50
Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 176 + no skill below 169.
