This course offers the opportunity to develop expertise in two ancient languages simultaneously, focusing on Latin in year two and the final year. The curriculum is the same as that of the Latin with Greek BA, with an additional opportunity to spend year three at an approved university abroad. The Undergraduate Preparatory Certificates (UPCs) are intensive one-year foundation courses for international students of high academic potential who are aiming to gain access to undergraduate degree programmes at UCL and other top UK universities. UCL has excellent library facilities, and is ideally situated close to world-renowned resources such as the British Museum, the British Library, and the Institute of Classical Studies. You will be taught through lectures, seminars and small-group work. Some sessions involve direct study of artifacts, including access to the collections of the British Museum. Knowledge of languages such as Latin and Greek will allow you to develop mental agility and versatility, equipping you with the ability (amongst other things) to learn modern languages with comparative ease, opening up a wider range of possibilities in the future. The Latin with Greek with Study Abroad BA is a rigorous and broad-ranging degree which qualifies you for a remarkably wide variety of jobs.
