Take advantage of our unique position as a laboratory-based inter-disciplinary program and work with senior heritage professionals and conservators to preserve art and objects for future generations. You'll get involved with Indigenous projects, including the Association of Northern Kimberley Arnhem Aboriginal Artists and the Warmun Art Centre, and global institutions, like the National Visual Art Gallery of Malaysia, Getty Conservation Institute, USA and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Victoria. Capitalize on the connections the University has with national and international institutions and the vast cultural collections and expertise of the University's Centre for Cultural Materials Conversation, the Arts and Science Faculties and the Ian Potter Museum of Art. WHO IS IT FOR? If you want to refine your professional area of practice, you can specialize in areas such as conservation, treatment of paintings, objects, works on paper and photographs within the Master of Cultural Materials Conservation. Designed for those willing to extend themselves, you have access to sophisticated scientific conservation equipment at the University of Melbourne's Science and Engineering faculties, where you can hone your ability as a master conservationist. You can also gain professional experience through a national or international internship, where you'll work under senior heritage professionals and conservators to carry out conservation research or a conservational treatment. WHERE WILL THIS TAKE ME? On graduation from the Master of Cultural Materials Conservation, you will be ready for work in professional fields including: The conservation and management of cultural materials Community, regional, national or international collections The cultural production and communication of cultural materials Government The scientific analysis of cultural materials. Graduates are employed in world-renowned organizations including: Art lab Australia Hunterian Museum & Gallery, University of Glasgow Museums and Art gallery of the Northern Territory Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa State Library of Victoria. 200 point program (2 years full-time or part-time equivalent) This is our most popular program for those who have completed undergraduate study. No experience is necessary. First 100 points: 87.5 points of Compulsory subjects 12.5 points of Elective subjects Second 100 points: 25 points of Compulsory subjects 37.5 points of Conservation Thesis Part 1 and 2 37.5 points of Elective subjects 150 point program (1.5 years full-time or part-time equivalent) First 50 points: 37.5 points of Compulsory subjects 12.5 points of Elective subjects Second 100 points: 25 points of Compulsory subjects 37.5 points of Minor Thesis subjects 37.5 points of Elective subjects 100 point program (1 year full-time or part-time equivalent) This is for Cultural Materials Conservation honours graduates, or those who have completed at least two years professional work experience in a closely related field, in addition to relevant background study. 25 points of Compulsory subjects 37.5 points of Minor Thesis subjects 37.5 points of Elective Subjects

为来自中国的学生设计 Graduate coursework programs normally require the satisfactory completion of an undergraduate degree either from the University of Melbourne, another Australian institution, or a university in another country. English language requirements: IELTS (academic English Only) - 7.0 overall, with written 7 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 600 + TWE 5.0; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 94 + (Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill. 国际学生入学条件 In order to be considered for entry to the 200 point program, applicants must have completed: an undergraduate degree in any discipline, with at least H2B (70%) weighted average, or equivalent. In order to be considered for entry to the 100 point program, applicants must have completed: an honours degree in a cognate discipline, with at least an H2B (70%) weighted average, or equivalent; or an undergraduate degree in a cognate discipline, with at least H2B (70%) weighted average, or equivalent, and at least two years of documented, relevant work experience. IELTS (academic English Only): 6.5 (no band less than 6.0); TOEFL (paper-based test): 577 + TWE 4.5; TOEFL (internet-based test): 79 +; Writing 21; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13; Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 + no communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): 176 + no skill below 169.
