Gain superior knowledge and a firm skill base to pursue management careers in the arts and cultural sector. The Master of Arts and Cultural Management will develop your transferable skills so you can traverse a broad range of art form contexts, including film, theatre, dance, music and the visual arts.
With a vocational pathway in mind, the Master of Arts and Cultural Management program includes an optional internship placement. You'll develop a practical understanding of cultural policy development in local councils and government.

Whether you want to continue studying, or are coming back to study to advance your professional skills, you'll refine your project management of small and large enterprises and broaden your understanding of issues concerning the arts, including financial management and contract negotiations. Through the Master of Arts and Cultural Management, you will expand your professional networks and put your skills into practice with a national or international internship placement.

200 point program (2 years full-time or part-time equivalent)
This is our most popular program for those who have completed undergraduate study. No experience is necessary.
50 points of Foundation subjects (must be completed in the first 100 points of the program)
5 Compulsory subjects (62.5 points)

Maximum of 25 points of Elective subjects
150 point program (1.5 years full-time or part-time equivalent)
This is for graduates who have completed at least one year of relevant professional work experience, or equivalent.

Graduate coursework programs normally require the satisfactory completion of an undergraduate degree either from the University of Melbourne, another Australian institution, or a university in another country. English language requirements: IELTS (academic English Only) - 7.0 overall, with written 7 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 600 + TWE 5.0; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 94 + (Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill.

In order to be considered for entry for the 100 point program, applicants must have completed: An honours degree in Arts and Cultural Management with a weighted average mark of at least H2B (70%), or equivalent ; or An undergraduate degree in a cognate discipline with a weighted average mark of at least H2B (70%), or equivalent, and at least two years documented relevant professional experience.
