Melbourne Business School's Master of Applied Econometrics (the application of statistical methods to economic data) is a two-year program that that focuses on the practical application of econometric modelling techniques. It combines coursework and research to equip you with the skills to make economic decisions in a data-driven manner.
Advances in information and communications technologies have revolutionised the way data is gathered, fuelling a surge in the demand for graduates with high-level training in data-analysis using econometric techniques.

The Master of Applied Econometrics will provide a comprehensive curriculum covering core microeconomics and macroeconomics, and a suite of econometrics offerings including time series analysis, financial econometrics, microeconometrics, macroeconometrics and structural econometric modelling.
The Master of Applied Econometrics program consists of 16 semester-length subjects comprising:

2 capstone subjects

Graduate coursework programs normally require the satisfactory completion of an undergraduate degree either from the University of Melbourne, another Australian institution, or a university in another country. English language requirements: IELTS (academic English Only) - 7.0 overall, with written 7 and no band less than 6.0; TOEFL (paper-based test) - 600 + TWE 5.0; TOEFL (internet-based test) - 94 + (Writing 27; Speaking 18; Reading 13; Listening 13); Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 65 + written communicative skill of 65 and no other communicative skill below 50; Cambridge English: Advanced/ Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) - 185 + no less than 185 in Writing and 169 in each other skill.

In order to be considered for entry, you must have completed: an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, with a strong analytical and mathematical component with a major in social science, commerce or STEM, and with a weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%); a first year statistics subject must have been completed.
