Arabic language subjects are organised in a progressive sequence (of units). Entry and exit points are determined by the student’s background in the language, placement testing, prerequisites, or at the discretion of the language program. Students normally progress through the subjects in consecutive order. Mid-year entry is also possible into subjects with even numbers, subject to appropriate prior experience and approval from the Convenor of the language program. There are three standard entry points: Arabic Studies 1 Entry Point: for students who have very little or no knowledge of Arabic Arabic Studies 3 Entry Point: for students who have lower intermediate level of Arabic Arabic Studies 5 Entry Point: for students who have completed Year 12 VCE Arabic (Second Language) or have an equivalent level of Arabic language. The Graduate Diploma in Arts in this area of specialisation requires: 25 points at Level 1 37.5 points at Level 2 12.5 points at Level 3 25 points at Level 4 Depending on the area of study you specialise in, with a Graduate Diploma in Arts you can expect to advance in areas including: Higher research and academia Public service Private enterprise Entry-level positions Graduates from this degree have worked as: Secondary school teacher Senior policy advisor Librarian Solicitor
