Studying a graduate diploma helps you develop knowledge and skills in your chosen subject area which will enable you to undertake a new career or further study. Graduate diplomas are intended to provide the equivalent of a major in a subject area that is different to your first degree’s major. You may be eligible if you haven’t studied for a degree before if you can demonstrate an interest in the subject area and a satisfactory academic ability. Candidates must gain 120 points at 100 level or above, including at least 75 points at 300 level or above, in the Graduate Diploma subjects. Screen and Media Studies Screen and Media Studies at Waikato makes sure you keep pace with new tools and platforms for the rapidly evolving media industry. Knowledge is gained from study and hands-on experience writing media content, constructing films, exploiting and adapting media technologies, or designing games. We expect our students to take their work beyond the classroom and enter competitions and festivals for more experience and greater exposure. Our students have been finalists in film festivals nationally and internationally, contributed specialised skills to feature-length film productions and work for, or run, their own media companies. 入学要求

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants are also accepted if they hold Senior High School Graduation plus one year successful study at a recognised institution of university standing; or successful completion of a two year diploma at a recognised institution. Other English Language Requirements: TOEFL paper-based score of 550 with TWE rating of 5.0; TOEFL computer-based score of 213 including a TWE of 5.0; CAEL Level 7 with a B grade average and no less than C in any section of the Certificate of Academic English Language (CAEL) programme; PTE Academic overall score of 57 and no less than 57 for Writing; NCEA (NZ schooling) should meet the NCEA literacy requirements for University Entrance (10 credits from the approved standards with 5 reading credits and 5 writing credits); and if English was the language of instruction in the last two years of secondary / tertiary studies then an English waiver can be considered. They need to provide evidence of this at the time of application. 国际学生入学条件 The course comprises of undergraduate papers. A qualification considered equivalent to a New Zealand bachelors degree with a B average is required. You also need to meet an English language entry requirement as follows: IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall (no less than 6.0 in writing); iBT (internet based) TOEFL - 90 with a score of 22 in writing; Pearson PTE Academic - 65 with no less than 58 for each communicative skill; Waikato Pathways - successful completion of Level 8 with a B grade average in the Certificate of Attainment in Academic (CAAE) programme.
