The Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (PGCertHSc) in Medical Imaging is designed for Medical Imaging Technologists (MITs) seeking to extend their understanding of Medical Imaging and contribute to the improvement of clinical health services by applying their knowledge and expertise within Medical Imaging services. The Computed Tomography (CT) pathway provides an opportunity for Medical Imaging Technologists to explore this imaging modality in more depth and advance their professional knowledge. The Image Evaluation pathway provides an opportunity for Medical Imaging Technologists to extend their professional knowledge of radiographic image evaluation enabling them to adapt to, and contribute confidently within, a rapidly changing health care environment. Medical Imaging Technologists seeking a clinical training position in MRI, ultrasound or nuclear medicine may commence their study before securing a training position by enrolling in the PGCertHSc(Medical Imaging). Should they obtain a clinical training position within 5 years of completion of the PGCertHSc, any completed courses may be eligible for transfer into the PGDipHSc qualification. Alternatively, students may select a range of courses based on their personal preferences. Upon completion of the PGCertHSc(Medical Imaging), students can progress to the PGDipHSc(Medical Imaging).
