专业简介
The University of Otago Foundation Year offers a university entrance qualification recognised by all New Zealand universities. Foundation Year prepares you for all undergraduate degrees offered at the University of Otago. Classes are taught on campus, with students using the same facilities as University of Otago students. Within Arts stream you will take ten papers. The papers are: Academic English I; Academic English II; Applications of Computing; Foundations of Computing; Economics; Geography; International Studies - An Historical Perspective; International Studies - Contemporary Environment; Introduction to Marketing; New Zealand History. Arts streams include the two compulsory papers, Academic English I and II.
The Arts stream may lead you to study towards the following university degrees:
Bachelor of Arts
Bachelor of Commerce
Bachelor of Theology
Bachelor of Education
The Bridging Programme is available to students which is a 6 week course designed to increase your chances of success in the Foundation Year programme.

Other English language requirements: Paper-based TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 550 (TWE 4.5); CIE Cambridge International Examinations Grade E or better in AS English; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - minimum of 58; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) - minimum of 50; GCE 'A' Level General Paper (English) - grade C or higher; APIEL (Advanced Placement International English Language) Examination - grade 3 or higher; IB International Baccalaureate - English at Higher or Standard level in Language A: literature, Language A: language and literature, or at Higher level in Language B; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - Overall score of 58 with no communicative skills score below 50.

Applicants must have completed GCE O-Levels with 20 Points and below in 5 subjects; International Baccalaureate with 18 Points in 6 subjects (on a scale of 0-7) or any other overseas equivalent qualifications.
IELTS score of 5.5 (no band below 5.0); iBT TOEFL score of 70 (with a writing score of 15); TOEFL (Paper-Based) score of 525; TOEFL (Computer-Based) score of 196; Cambridge FCE with Grade B; Cambridge CAE with Grade C; Cambridge CPE with Grade C; GCE O-Level English with C6; GCE A-Level English with D7; HK CEE (English Syllabus B) with 3; HK ALE (Use of English) with D7; SPM Bahasa Inggeris with B+.
