专业简介
Studying social sciences and public policy can open up a wide range of careers that involve understanding and working with people and organisations. At AUT you’ll study society at many levels – from individuals, families and communities, governments and cultures through to our global system.
You will become familiar with disciplines including conflict resolution, criminology and psychology.
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree is a one-year, research-only master’s degree. It's a great opportunity to explore a research topic of an applied or professional nature, under the supervision of AUT's expert academic staff.
The Master of Philosophy enables you to expand your research capabilities by focusing on a particular area of interest. It can provide a pathway to more advanced research at doctoral level.
What you study:
You complete an original thesis during this year of study.
AUT staff are available to supervise MPhil research on a wide range of topics.

Applicants musthave completed the following or equivalent: A bachelor’s degree OR Graduate diploma OR Relevant professional qualification or professional experience approved to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. English Language requirements: Minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher; TOEFL iBT score of 90; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with A grade; GIE with B+ grade; CAE minimum overall score of 176; PTE minimum overall score of 58.

Must have completed one of the following with the equivalent of a B grade average or higher:
Four-year bachelor’s degree OR
Bachelor’s honours degree OR
Bachelor’s degree and a postgraduate diploma OR
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience relevant to the proposed programme of research
An interview may be required for particular research areas.
