In as little as one year you can gain a qualification in health science with the Graduate Diploma in Health Science. It's designed for people without a degree but with considerable work experience in health, sport or recreation. You can choose from a range of papers from the Bachelor of Health Science or Bachelor of Sport and Recreation. This programme is also suitable if you have a degree in another discipline and don’t meet the entry criteria for postgraduate study in health sciences. You take eight 15-point approved undergraduate papers, of which at least five must be at level 7. You‘ll be guided to select your papers in a given subject area. Addictions papers: Addiction is a complex problem that affects the physical and mental health of individuals and their families, and impacts on the wider social environment. AUT's addictions papers equip students with the skills to work effectively with people who have substance use and/or gambling related problems in a range of settings. Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Studies papers: The Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy papers are designed for health professionals, teachers, youth workers and individuals who have extensive experience of working with children and who have a strong interest in becoming a specialist child and adolescent psychotherapist.
