Want to work in the tourism industry but don't have the academic entry requirements for higher level study? This bridging certificate provides the perfect solution. Successful completion of this programme will give you a New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) and will ensure you meet the academic entry requirements for our New Zealand Certificate in Tourism (Level 4) (Operations). This certificate will allow you to enter the exciting world of travel and tourism by gaining introductory knowledge in all aspects of the tourism industry. You will acquire the skills needed to gain entry-level employment or to gain admission into higher level academic programmes. In addition to learning about future trends in the tourism industry and their impacts, you will also gain foundational communication, career and study skills. Your workload: You will be expected to study for 37 hours per week. This will consist of lectures for approximately 22 hours (this includes assignments) and an additional 15 hours of student-managed study time. Further study options: Successful completion of this programme will give you the academic entry requirements for our New Zealand Certificate in Tourism (Level 4) (Operations). Once you have completed the Level 4 programme, you could expand your employment potential by studying our New Zealand Diploma in Tourism and Travel (Level 5). Alternatively, you could consider studying one of our other business qualifications such as the Bachelor of Applied Management.
