Do you want to prepare for further tertiary business studies at diploma or degree level? Then this is the perfect option! Successful completion of this programme will give you the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 4) and will guarantee you entry into the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5), New Zealand Diploma in Tourism and Travel (Level 5) or the Bachelor of Applied Management. Pathway options into the Bachelor of Information Technology and other Otago Polytechnic diploma and degrees are also available. During this programme, you will gain the skills required for higher level learning and an understanding of the expectations of diploma- and degree-level study. You will develop your academic reading and writing, an understanding of the research process, build your computer skills and refine your time management skills. By exploring and developing your personal learning style, you will gain confidence in your abilities. Your workload: You will be required to undertake approximately 16 hours per week of directed study in the form of lectures and practical work sessions. It is expected that you will contribute equal hours of your own time in self-directed study to allow for successful completion of the Certificate.
