Lincoln University's Master of Sport and Recreation Management provides students with an understanding of the complexity of the sport and recreation sector, and how the dimensions of governance, economy, social relations and environment at local, national and global scales can affect individual business decisions and long term planning within the sector.
This Master's degree is particularly relevant for those who wish to advance to a senior level in the sport and recreation sector.

Staircase Your Degree
If studying full-time, you can complete the nine courses that make up the Master of Sport and Recreation Management in just three semesters. As a taught Master's programme, this degree consists of coursework only, with no research thesis requirement.
If your plans change before you finish your Master's degree, you can still gain a Postgraduate Certificate (in six months) or a Postgraduate Diploma (in one year), depending on how many courses you want to complete.
Staircasing your degree is helpful if you want a postgraduate degree but aren't sure how much time you can commit to the nine courses.
Summary of Regulations
Students are required to complete 180 credits of courses from the schedules to the regulations for the MSRM over three semesters of full-time study.

Applicants must have a relevant degree with a B- average in the 300 level courses and final year (full time equivalent). Other English Language Requirements accepted: Pearson Test of English (Academic) with 58 - 50 in each communicative skill or Lincoln University EAP with 70%.

If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate that your English is good enough to study successfully at university. Lincoln University recognises achievement through a limited number of recognised tests of English Language. Below are the minimum standards for entry to the programme:
IELTS academic score of 6.5 overall, with no individual component less than 6.0
TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 80 (with at least 21 in writing and 18 in Speaking)
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and First (FCE) overall score of 176, with no individual component less than 169
Pearson Test of English (Academic) overall score of 58 with no communicative score of less than 50
NZ Certificates in English Language (NZCEL) Level 5 (Academic or Professional Endorsement)
Lincoln University English Language GCAE or LU EL 70%.
