Secondly, law has a practical aspect which is studied with a view to enabling you to become a practising solicitor or advocate. Accurate problem solving and understanding of the structures of our society, which result from the study of law, are highly valued skills. As a law student, you will learn about the formal structures of our society and the role of law in shaping society. Many contemporary writers in Celtic languages are internationally recognised figures, and contemporary cultural expression in Celtic languages, through various media, is vibrant. Celtic at the University of Edinburgh focuses on the Scottish Gaelic language but also covers Modern Irish and the Medieval Celtic languages.
