This area of work is often referred to as Community Learning and Development. Graduates from the BA Community Education programme can be found working in settings as diverse as Adult Education, Community Arts, Environmental Campaigning, Mental Health (self-help projects), and Youth Projects and Centres. The single most striking feature of the professional field is its diversity, and the programme is constructed to allow students to develop specialist knowledge and expertise alongside generic skills and understanding. The study programme combines taught classes and experience of professional practice through practice placements supervised by professionally qualified practitioners.Our programme includes adult education and community and youth work. It is approved by the Community Learning and Development Standards Council for Scotland. In the 2016 National Student Survey (NSS) 100 per cent of Community Education students said they were satisfied with the quality of our programme.
