The course combines intensive language training with rigorous academic study. This course includes a wide range of subjects because we want you to graduate with a sophisticated understanding of German language, culture and society. The department is a community. We share a belief that our subject is relevant, even vital, to people outside the university. We run sessions on careers, so you're clear how your degree can make you an asset to an employer. Through projects like Philosophy in the City, you'll use what you learn to make a difference in the community.  The learning and assessment percentages could vary depending on the modules you choose. On completion of this course recent graduates have gone on to work in a variety of professions including law, teaching, translating, journalism, broadcasting, accountancy, national government and business, in the UK and in elsewhere in Europe.
