This course will give you a solid grounding in modern economic theory, as well as covering techniques of applied economic analysis and the analytical tools essential for an understanding of finance. You'll learn about the basic frameworks of microeconomics (the decisions of individuals and firms) and macroeconomics (wider economic issues such as inflation and unemployment). The learning and assessment percentages could vary depending on the modules you choose. Some of our graduates become professional economists in government, industry or the City. Others enter related professions - retail banking, investment banking, actuarial and insurance professions, accountancy, sales and marketing, operations and retail management. Recent graduates are now working for Deloitte, Nestlé, Rolls Royce, and Office for Budget Responsibility and the Houses of Parliament. Some prefer to advance their knowledge by studying economics at postgraduate level.
