A degree in Modern Languages means that not only do you get to study in depth the language or languages of your choosing, but also spend a year abroad experiencing that culture and language first hand. Our Modern Languages degree course covers a broad range of exciting and translatable topics that examine the development and spread of modern languages. Graduates of our Modern Languages courses go on to teach, translate and continue into further study. This is a 3-language degree programme which allows you to start the third language from beginners level. For each language, you will be allocated to a stage of language proficiency in our unique system of seven language levels. This is designed to place you at the stage most appropriate to develop your spoken and written skills, enabling you to make rapid progress. In all years of study you will benefit from our wide range of resources. Employability is embedded into course modules from the first year onwards, right from the first lecture. We offer a number of optional employability modules. Your specialist skills in intercultural communication, listening and language will be highly valued by employers.
