This course provides a broad knowledge of physics, with a special emphasis on the theoretical aspects. Alongside core physics modules, you will take a series of more specialized modules that develop the key ideas and main mathematical and computational techniques of theoretical physics. To fit in the extra theoretical components, laboratory work is only undertaken in the first year. You will have developed a wide variety of skills including the ability to process complex information, to analyse data, and to problem solve using advanced mathematical methods.

Applicants who have taken foundation courses are normally considered on a case by case basis. Students who have completed one or two years of university study may be eligible for bachelors admission, if relevant subjects have been studied and strong grades achieved.
