The world of government Law and regulatory practice offers diverse career opportunities.
Our Master of Government Law and Regulatory Practice is for those working with or within government and regulatory bodies, including careers in federal, state or local government. It provides a thorough theoretical and practical grounding in government law and regulatory practice and the advanced skills required for working in these fields.
You will gain in-depth knowledge and evaluate complex issues relevant to the field from theoretical, international and interdisciplinary perspectives.

We are one of the most prestigious law schools in Australia, and this course is designed for non-law graduates and offered at our Monash University Law Chambers in the heart of the legal district of Melbourne.
We offer abroad range of units in government law and regulatory practice law areas, or you can select from across the range of available Masters law elective units. Covering areas such as terrorism and human rights law, privacy and freedom of information, employee relations, workplace law, government law and administration and environmental law—to name a few, you will gain thorough theoretical and practical grounding in government law and regulatory practice. You will also develop the advanced professional skills and specialist knowledge required for work in this broad field.
Our course provides the flexibility to choose a program of study to suit your interests, skills and professional goals. Full-time or part-time study options allow you to continue to work, as well as meet personal commitments.
The course enhances your capacity to undertake independent research, and includes options for a pathway to doctoral studies.

Applicants must have a relevant bachelor degree or equivalent. English language requirements: IELTS 7.0 no band lower than 6.5, or TOEFL 600 with a TWE of 5, or an internet-based TOEFL score of 100 with 24 plus in Writing and no section lower than 20
国际学生入学条件
A bachelor Honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, including government, regulation, social work or another relevant discipline, as determined by the faculty, with a minimum credit average.
A bachelor degree (or equivalent) plus either a graduate diploma (or equivalent) in Law or a cognate discipline including government, regulation, social work or another relevant discipline or a graduate certificate (or equivalent) in Law or a cognate discipline including business, economics, commerce or another relevant discipline as determined by the faculty.
Or
A bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, including government, regulation, social work or another relevant discipline plus sufficient relevant work-based experience or professional learning to provide the equivalent of a bachelor honours degree on one of those disciplines, as determined by the faculty.
Applicants will be assessed on their entire academic record, with a credit average (or equivalent) preferred. As a general rule, students who do not have a credit average or are relying on relevant work experience to satisfy entry requirements will need to have worked for at least two years, although the required period may be shorter where the work experience has been supplemented by other relevant learning.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0)
TOEFL Paper-based test: 550 with a TWE of 4.5
TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18
