You will address the complexity and the artistry of teaching – advancing your understanding of how learning can be both stimulated and supported – in various learning areas and contexts of your choice. Start of expanded content In addition to in-depth studies of teaching and learning generally, you can select units across the following areas: adult education educational technologies gifted education information and communication technologies language and literacy mathematics and science music. You will develop both theoretical and practical tools to deploy in your school or other educational setting and (re)consider teaching and learning through a range of challenging perspectives. You will be asked to think deeply about the purposes that guide your practice, the kinds of educator–learner relationships you develop and the kinds of knowledge forms that you draw into your teaching. You will engage with, and reflect on, a range of evidence and a diversity of research findings within the field of interest to you. Contemporary thinking about teaching practice and emerging and current developments around curriculum, pedagogy and assessment will be addressed throughout.
