The BSc Microbiology is the study of bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa. These agents have a huge impact on human health and disease, the environment, the food industry, and the pharmaceutical and chemicals industries. They can be harmful or beneficial, and our understanding of their importance continues to grow as microbiologists apply techniques such as genome sequencing and systems biology in their research.
