Going to a university in another country is your opportunity to experience other cultures and lifestyles, as well as studying within departments where different aspects of Geology and Geography are taught.**Course Structure**This four-year course follows a similar structure to the MSci Geology with Geography programme, but with a year spent abroad with one of our university exchange partners.**Year 1**In your first year you’ll build a strong foundation of knowledge through compulsory modules in Understanding the Dynamic Planet, Physical and Chemical processes in the Earth system, and Research and Field Skills. You’re likely to come across new subjects – sparking interests that may shape your studies over the next three years.**Year 2**In your second year you’ll take modules on Earth science skills, global tectonics and sedimentology. Alongside these you’ll have the freedom to tailor your course with optional subjects from a wide range of specialist modules – including subjects such as geomorphology, geophysics and hydrogeology.**Year 3** You’ll spend your third year studying abroad at one of our university exchange partners. We’ll do our best to place you at the university of your choice, based on your field of interest and placement preferences.**Year 4**In your final year you’ll carry out a substantial piece of independent research in a topic that matches your interests.
