The HND Public and Emergency Services course will give you a strong practical and academic grounding in how public, emergency and armed services operate, are organised and are managed. You’ll have the chance to complete work placements, or work on projects with public organisations. This will not only enhance your studies but also give you valuable real-life experience in the workplace and help you to prepare for your career. The HND Public and Emergency Services course will develop key skills that are relevant to the public service environment, including leadership skills, the ability to solve problems, evaluate and interpret evidence, make reasoned arguments, present information, and work as part of a team. Many of our graduates have used the HND Public and Emergency Services as a route into the police and fire services. It is also a valuable qualification if you want a career in the ambulance service, the armed forces, prison and security services,HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), or community service organisations. By successfully completing the HND Public and Emergency Services course, you will also have the option to progress to the final year of the BA (Hons) Public Services course at the University, where your studies will focus on developing your employability skills, giving you an advantage in today’s competitive employment market.
