‘The first step in teaching students to innovate is making sure that educators have opportunities to be innovators themselves.’Do you want to work within the field of education and make a positive impact on young people?The course aims to develop knowledge, skills and ultimately a passion for education in a range of contexts and prepare students for the world of work so that they can respond to current and future demands of education with a creative and adaptive approach. It will provide students with innovative, and forward-thinking pedagogical experiences and assessments that will develop key employability skills (e.g. communication, critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration) which will enable them to become productive and effective members of the global workforce in the 21st century. The course will focus on the use and development of digital skills as a way to create, to communicate, to work collaboratively and to develop leadership skills. Research is also a key component of the course and its design reflects the intention to provide as many opportunities as possible to develop and enhance the research skills of the students so that they become research-informed. The aim is to work in collaboration to develop individual research skills and thus enable access to higher degree opportunities as well as providing opportunities for career progression into leadership and management.The three-year undergraduate programme will explore education from a 21st century perspective, equipping students with the skills, knowledge and experiences to access the workplace in their chosen field.
