On this course students develop knowledge and transferable skills across traditional subject boundaries and will be prepared for the challenge of managing forests for the many benefits they provide, at a time of global environmental change. Our courses place an emphasis on field visits and fieldwork as well as opportunities to enhance employability through professional placements and skills. This course provides a traditional broad-spectrum Geography degree with an Environmental Forestry specialism. The programme addresses a shortage of high-calibre graduates suitable for management positions within the professions associated with forests and woodlands, and so provides excellent employability prospects. Bangor has been teaching forestry since 1904, and has an excellent international reputation for environmental forestry education with many of our alumni occupying senior positions within leading organisations world-wide. In this degree you will learn about environmental forestry in a broader geographical context. You will study the key physical processes that shape the Earth and the biological and chemical processes that underpin the delivery of ecosystem services to meet human needs.
