The Education and Welsh joint honours degree will enable students to specialise in both subjects, developing a range and mix of skills and knowledge which will enhance their future career prospects. The programme is intended for students who wish to develop their understanding and command of the Welsh Language and consider a broad spectrum of education theory and practice. Consequently, graduates will develop the skills and knowledge to design and evaluate education processes, curriculum and programmes, and will be well placed to inform the practice and delivery of Welsh education.   A degree in Education and Welsh will equip students with the necessary knowledge of education theory and practice, language proficiency and transferable skills for a wide range of fulfilling professional roles in the public and private sector. Consequently, it provides an excellent foundation for many types of careers, including: early years teaching, play therapy and education administration; community development work; Welsh education research; local authority, local and national government and social services roles; learning mentoring and community education welfare; translation, media and performing arts (Welsh medium); education and Welsh publishing; and education departments in museums, galleries and theatres.
