Economics and Politics at Aberdeen is a great subject combination which gives you thorough grounding in the global economy and the many factors that influence wealth from a social and financial perspective. The programme focuses on the role of politics, different political systems and how democracy interacts and influences economies. You will be ideally suited to a career in politics, media or business and with skills transferable to many other sectors of employment. You are assessed by any combination of three assessment methods: coursework such as essays and reports completed throughout the course; practical assessments of the skills and competencies learnt on the course; and written examinations at the end of each course. Economics will allow you to work in accountancy, finance, economics, analysis, actuarial work, local government and more across sectors. Politics may allow you look at areas such as internal and external communications, HR, writing and high level business administration roles.
