In this course, you will be directly involved in the mainstream research of the Division of Health Research. You will receive specialised supervision and research training relevant to your research topic and methodology. You will be encouraged to take part in a range of more generic courses such as teaching skills, statistical methods and data analysis. You will also be encouraged to attend and present at conferences both within the UK and overseas; recent students have attended conferences in the USA and Australia as well as mainland Europe. Applications are welcomed for PhD study, full-time or part-time, in any of our main research areas.

Students must have studied for at least 4 years duration. For courses that require a 2:1 equivalent, students must have achieved 80- 85% in Bachelor's degree. For courses that require a 2:2 equivalent, they must have achieved 75-80 %. Higher grades may be required depending on the ranking of the institution.
