This course is designed for students who are not eligible to apply directly to the Medicine and Surgery programme. For instance: if you are not predicted to achieve the required grades but attend a school or college whose A-level results are below average for state-funded schools in England or have serious mitigating circumstances that have had a significant impact on your A-level performance. It provides opportunities for students from a disadvantaged background and individuals who display a long term commitment to a career in healthcare e.g. mature students working in the NHS. The course is designed to prepare you for successful progression onto the 5 year undergraduate medical degree programme.
