The Bachelor of Journalism is recognised internationally for its quality and innovation, incorporating foundations in journalistic traditions with emerging media trends. Students are trained in news writing, broadcast reporting, photography, media rounds and industries, digital publication and design, media ethics and law. Students can undertake specialised subjects such as Foreign Correspondence; Fashion, Travel and Sport Writing; Multimedia Production; Photojournalism; Creative Non-Fiction and Fiction Writing; Social Media and Citizen Journalism. Bond is committed to maintaining strong industry ties, with many assessment tasks linked to real world publication outcomes including internet publications. Students will have the opportunity to report for local, national and international media outlets throughout their degree and can undertake internships in Australia or internationally in places like New York, Washington and London.
The Bachelor of Laws prepares students for a career as a legal professional, both within Australia and overseas. It provides students with a thorough grounding in essential areas of substantive law and access to a wide choice of law elective subjects, including the option of completing a specialisation. An integrated skills and professionalism program is embedded in the degree and focuses on core legal skills essential to the practice of law. The Bachelor of Laws provides an engaging learning experience that challenges students academically and prepares them practically for a legal career.
Professional outcomes
The Bachelor of Journalism / Bachelor of Laws enables you to graduate with two undergraduate degrees. The combined degree provides you with the professional outcomes and opportunities of both individual degrees. Please refer to the individual programs for professional outcomes.
Completing this combined program will provide opportunities for a range of careers in private, government and not for profit sectors. Graduates may seek to practise law whilst utilising a foundational understanding of the production of content for a range of traditional and multimedia platforms, or employ their understanding of journalism to work in biomedical industries with a background in compliance, regulation and intellectual property.

Applicants must have completed Year 12 or equivalent (in other Australian states). Other entry requirements for specific courses: Faculty of Law requires a minimum of 32 points. Science programs in the School of Health Sciences requires a Minimum of 29 points. Faculty of Business, non-science programs in the School of Health Sciences, Bachelor of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying, Bachelor of Sustainable Environments and Planning and Bachelor of Psychological Science require a Minimum of 27 points. English Language Requirements accepted: CAE: 176 (Writing 176, Reading 169, Listening 169, Speaking 169); PTE: 58 with a Communicative Skills score in writing 58 or above.
